Welcome to Christ Catholic Church, an historic jurisdiction in the United States of America.
Christ Catholic Church Province of the Prince of Peace stands in direct and authentic succession to the Polish Old Catholic Church formed by Bishop Joseph Zielonka in 1937; continued and renamed by his successor, Bishop Peter A. Zurawetsky, in 1961 as Christ Catholic Church of the Americas and Europe; further continued and renamed by Bishop Karl Prüter in 1965 as Christ Catholic Church Diocese of Boston; and thereafter known simply as Christ Catholic Church.
Born from the Orthodox and Old Catholic traditions, we continue to grow as an expression of the Free Catholic Movement. We are a church committed to peace, social justice, diversity, and a deeply sacramental approach to the Christian faith.
We invite you to look around and discover more about who we are, what we believe, and the ministries in which we are involved. These pages offer a glimpse into the life of our Free Catholic community: our faith, our practice, our vision, and our work. We hope you discover something new, not only about us, but perhaps about yourself as well.
Do you yearn to take part in worship that is both ancient and modern, rooted in the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church, yet alive to the needs of the present day? Do you long for a community small enough that your gifts, talents, questions, and calling will not be lost in a sea of people?
Perhaps you have been cast aside by a church because of your questions, your race, your economic status, your theology, your sexuality, your relationship status, the way you love, the way you dress, or simply because you did not fit someone else’s idea of who belongs. Perhaps you need a safe place to experience again the love of God. Perhaps, just perhaps, you feel the quiet tug of the God of Love, and you are looking for a community to help you along the way.
You are welcome here.
We welcome all people, celebrating diversity and the priesthood of all believers. If you feel called to a more formal or ordained sacramental ministry, and you are without a church home, we may be able to help you discern that calling. Regardless of where you are on the journey, our church is open to you, and we welcome you.
We are ministry intensive. The apostolic work of the members of Christ Catholic Church is to live the Gospel with humble and joyful hearts through a ministry of presence. The purpose of our presence is to proclaim the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ, not only in word, but in availability, compassion, mercy, and response.
This ministry of presence is lived not only in church settings, but also in our daily secular work as a manifestation of apostolic service. We do not separate our “spiritual lives” from our “secular lives.” To us, all of life is one, and every place is an arena for bringing God’s love to a troubled and lonely world.
We are radically inclusive. We believe, with Saint Isaac of Syria: “Do not try to discriminate the worthy from the unworthy, but let all people be equal in your eyes for a good deed.”
Christ Catholic Church does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, gender, sexual orientation, relationship status, nationality, socioeconomic class, or perceived state of grace. We are fully committed to inclusivity, and our support for LGBTQ+ persons, and for all who seek a spiritual home within Christ Catholic Church, is unwavering and unapologetic.
If you are moved to learn more, please feel free to contact us. Perhaps you feel a tug upon your heart to be part of something different, something intentional, something meaningful. Perhaps you are discerning whether this community may be part of your journey. We welcome your inquiries and will help you as best we can as you seek where God may be calling you.

The peace of the Lord be always with you.
